Ebay appears to scrap ‘canceled’ Dr. Seuss books from site

Dr. Seuss’ most controversial books are becoming rarer by the minute.

Incensed book owners are lambasting Ebay for preventing them from reselling the six Dr. Seuss books that were nixed by the publishing company over “racist” imagery. This comes after the books were going for hundreds of dollars on the auction site.

Starting Thursday, sellers claimed that Ebay had removed the postings for the six books: “And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street,” “If I Ran the Zoo’, ‘McElligot’s Pool,” “On Beyond Zebra!” “Scrambled Eggs Super!” and “The Cat’s Quizzer.” Resellers were notified that they violated the “offensive material policy,” which prohibits content that promotes “hatred, violence, or discrimination.”

eBay has not responded to The Post’s requests for comment.

But outrage quickly spread on social media, starting with one seller who claimed his listing was blocked.

“You can’t make this stuff up,” the user fumed.@eBay is blocking my listing of @DrSeuss’s “The Cat’s Quizzer” & citing it as offensive material.”

Others pointed out the hypocrisy of prohibiting books by a children’s author while allowing the distribution of “Mein Kampf” and and other antisemitic works.

“You can sell Mein Kampf on eBay but not one for the 6 newly “forbidden” Dr. Seuss books,” Tweeted one.
