Will Macaulay Culkin appear in the ‘Home Alone’ reboot?

It’s been over 30 years since cute little Macaulay Culkin graced movie screens as forgotten-kid-turned-burglar-catcher Kevin McCallister in “Home Alone.”

And now the iconic holiday film is getting the remake treatment with Disney+’s upcoming flick, “Home Sweet Home Alone.” So will Culkin, 41, go back to his roots and make an appearance in the new family film?

Well, sorry, ya filthy animals! Culkin confirmed on Wednesday that he’s not a part of the series reboot.

“Hey y’all. Just a heads up since I’ve been getting this question a lot today: I am NOT in the new ‘Home Alone’ reboot,” he wrote on Twitter. “I wish all involved the best of luck though.”

The movie follows 10-year-old Max Mercer (played by “Jojo Rabbit” star Archie Yates), who is accidentally left behind by his family when they leave for a family trip. Like the original, he must battle robbers when they break into his home, this time facing off against Pam (Ellie Kemper) and Jeff (Rob Delaney).

It appears “Home Sweet Home Alone” will acknowledge the original film. Devin Ratray, who played Kevin’s bullying big brother Buzz in the first film, makes a cameo in the trailer as a cop with a badge that says “McCallister.”

The screenplay was written by “Saturday Night Live” writers Mikey Day and Streeter Seidell and directed by Dan Mazer. “SNL” comedian Kenan Thompson co-stars alongside Timothy Simons, Pete Holmes, Ally Maki and Chris Parnell.

1990’s “Home Alone” was written by legendary ’80s filmmaker John Hughes and directed by Chris Columbus. It featured the talents of Joe Pesci, John Heard and Catherine O’Hara. A sequel, entitled “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York,” was released in 1992.

This remake was first announced in 2019 and will be released on the streaming service on Nov. 12.
